BABA YAHOO FINANCE – The Chinese online marketplace Alibaba is reportedly buying Yahoo finance.
The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday that Alibaba is “taking a serious interest” in Yahoo finance, and that it will buy a stake in the company worth $200 billion.
The Wall Street News says the Alibaba stake will be worth roughly $2.4 billion.
It says the transaction is subject to regulatory approval.
The report also notes that Alibaba has also purchased stakes in “many” of the other online marketplace startups, including Zynga, Zyngas Marketplace, and Zendesk.
Alibaba has a combined market capitalization of about $2 trillion.
